2-е місце у світі за запасами залізняку (30 млрд тонн);
2 місце в Європі за запасами ртутної руди;
3 місце у Європі (13 місце у світі) за запасами сланцевого газу (22 трлн куб. м)
4 місце у світі за загальною вартістю природних ресурсів;
7 місце у світі за запасами вугілля (33,9 млрд тонн)
Україна - важлива аграрна країна:
1 місце в Європі за площею ріллі;
3 місце у світі за площею чорноземів (25% світового обсягу);
1 місце у світі з експорту соняшнику та олії;
2 місце у світі з виробництва ячменю та 4 місце з експорту ячменю;
3-й за величиною виробник та 4-й за величиною експортер кукурудзи у світі;
4 місце у світі з виробництва картоплі;

5 місце у світі з виробництва бджіл (75 000 тонн);
8 місце у світі з експорту пшениці;

Україна може задовольнити потреби у продуктах харчування 600 мільйонів людей.
Україна є важливою промислово розвиненою країною:
1 місце у Європі з виробництва аміаку;
Друга за величиною в Європі та четверта у світі газопровідна система;
3 місце у Європі та 8 місце у світі за встановленою потужністю АЕС;
